Sunshine and Shadows - watercolour & pastel, painted en plein air at Botanic Gardens, Leicester
Woodland Magic - oils
Farm View - acrylic, painted en plein air
I have learnt that I can always find inspiration for my art from my immediate surroundings, my home, garden or the back lane where I walk our dog every day. I am happiest working from life. I love painting outdoors and my natural instinct is to put down what I want to say as quickly as possible to catch the atmosphere and mood. It focuses my attention on the important elements in order not to be distracted by the details.
Helping other artists on their creative journey gives me great pleasure and it is an ongoing learning journey for me too. I like to experiment with a wide range of materials including acrylics, watercolours, gouache, egg yolk and Brusho,(my version of egg tempera) and even natural clay mixed with PVA from my local area.
